In January we applied for a Reading Grant sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield. They sponsored a "Character Education Project" targeting 3rd grade. Mrs. Holtman and Mrs. Harbin participated in a small scale project which was consistent with their lesson plans and the students maintained journals supporting character education. Today Mr. Jeff Adams, the Community Relations Manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield, arrived on campus and surprised us with a check for $1500. This money is greatly appreciated and will be used to enhance reading in the 3rd grade classrooms and in the library. If you get the chance congratulate the 3rd grade teachers and students, they have done an outstanding job!
